Grief is a deeply personal experience that can feel isolating and overwhelming. When someone we love is gone, the pain can seem endless, and the path to healing unclear. That is why our church is launching a new Grief Support small group, a welcoming space where people can come together to listen, share, and find practical tools to navigate their loss. This group is designed to offer comfort and connection during one of life’s most difficult journeys.

Why Grief Support Matters
Grief affects everyone differently, but no one should face it alone. Support groups provide a unique environment where people can express their feelings without judgment. Sharing stories and emotions with others who understand can reduce feelings of loneliness and despair.
Research shows that people who engage in grief support often experience:
Reduced anxiety and depression
Improved coping skills
Greater acceptance of loss
Renewed hope for the future
Our group will focus on creating a safe, compassionate space where members can listen and be heard. We will explore practical tools such as mindfulness, journaling, and faith-based reflections to help ease the pain and foster healing.
What to Expect in the Grief Support Group
The group will meet weekly or biweekly in a relaxed setting at the church. Each session will include:
A brief opening prayer or meditation
Guided discussions on topics related to grief and healing
Opportunities to share personal experiences
Practical exercises to support emotional well-being
Resources for further help, including counseling referrals
The group welcomes anyone who has experienced loss, whether recent or long ago. Healing is a process that takes time, and this group is here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
How to Join and What to Bring

You don’t need to bring anything except an open heart and a willingness to connect. If you want, bring a notebook or journal to use during sessions.
